Meghan Markle Tries a Tuxedo for the Endeavour Awards

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out at the Endeavour Funds Award in London for a night honoring wounded, sick and injured servicemen. The two lovebirds were caught in the rain and forced to dash inside Goldsmiths' Hall.

But what did the power couple wear...

Harry broke out his usual 'car salesman' blue suit and tie while Meghan Markle went for (*gasp*) a James Bond style Alexander McQueen satin lined tuxedo which cost around $2000. Very #tuxluxe. (On a side note, Meg's PR people once claimed the Suits actress was up for the role as the next James Bond girl--but it was totally fabricated.)

In addition, Meghan opted for a slinky white blouse by Tuxe with a neck tie and went for minimal jewelry. She finished her bold look with Manolo Blahnik heels and a Prada clutch.

The actress appeared to have had a fresh blowout and wore minimal neutral makeup except for a light pink lip and a tiny bit of rosy blush and maybe a small smidge of highlight along her nose.

The overall look was a tad bartender-meets-lounge-singer-meets-waitress. Even with pointy Manolos, the star's masculine outfit seemed a tad out of place. Kate Middleton also recently wore Alexander McQueen in Norway but her floaty and ethereal gown was a far cry from Meghan's androgynous style.

Many people were gobsmacked that Meghan was once again dabbling in breaking royal protocol and tradition by wearing a suit, and some pleaded that she needs to wear dresses. Another reason Markle is rule-breaking? Female members of the royal family rarely wear pants to official events and hardly ever opt for anything other than dresses for evening attire. A young Princess Diana at 19-years-old wore an elegant evening dress to the same event when she attended with Prince Charles.

Ever the consummate coy and cutesy actress, Meghan presented the Celebrating Excellence Award where she was unable to locate the list of nominees at the podium and broke out into a few giggles.

Some thought a pantsuit to honor the military was a tad tacky and too 'office' causal while others felt the couple were again going a little Hollywood and that Meghan should've opted for something other than trousers. Some even said Prince Harry and Meghan's relationship was turning into a showmance! No wonder people are calling for a return to royal decorum and traditional etiquette.

It seems that Markle is taking serious style notes from new best friend Victoria Beckham as she's worn very VB signature outfits multiple times now--including her wide leg trousers at the Brixton radio station visit which is totally posh and now the trendy tuxedo.

A power pantsuit is apparently the new pantyhose for this royal rebel. Hope the Queen agrees!
