4 Things that Were Seriously Wrong with this Year's Golden Globes

When women support each other, incredible things happen. At this year's 75th annual Golden Globe award show, women rallied together and wore black in honor of the Time's Up movement. The movement supports the Time's Up Organization--a legal defense fund that provides subsidized legal support to those who have experienced sexual harassment, assault or abuse in the workplace.

While the 2018 Golden Globes shone a spotlight on a long hidden, buried and ugly side of Hollywood and the workplace in general, there were still a few oddities about a night celebrating women's empowerment.

Here are 4 Things that Were Wrong with the 2018 Golden Globe Awards:

1. James Franco, Best Actor
Franco won for Best Actor for his role as Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist. Comedian Jenny Yang compared Franco's wearing a black Time's Up support pin on stage to cancer wearing a pink ribbon. Many have accused James Franco of predatory sexual behavior. @VioletPaley on Twitter is calling out the actor for flashing his penis and telling her 17-year-old friend to come to his hotel room. Indeed, James Franco has preyed upon teenagers in the past and even used Instagram under the "alias" JamesfrancoTV to try and meet underage women. Poor Hugh Jackman didn't know what to do when Franco won and subsequently grabbed the microphone away from Wiseau in a very Kanye-Taylor moment.

2. Heidi + Harvey

Heidi Klum has spoken out against Harvey Weinstein but it's a bit of a case of hypocrisy as her show Project Runway was produced by the Weinstein company and frequently featured Weinstein's wife Georgina Chapman. In a vague statement Klum described general sexual harassment that women experience in society and didn't direct much blame or backlash at Harvey himself. In the past, Klum also frequently wore Chapman's clothing on the red carpet and seemed to be good friends with Weinstein and his wife. Since 2011, Heidi has frequently been photographed with this accused rapist and sexual abuser. At this year's Golden Globes, Heidi wore black to stand alongside her peers of women supporting the Time's Up cause; she made sure not to wear Marchesa. We certainly hope Heidi has a new BFF these days.

3. Kirk Douglas

Receiving a standing ovation 101-year-old Kirk Douglas took to the Golden Globes stage in a wheelchair alongside his daughter-in-law Catherine Zeta Jones to present the award for best screenplay in a motion picture. While this heartwarming moment might have seemed pretty sweet, there was a lot of Twitter rage about this supposed momentous appearance by the aging actor. Some like Jed Finley took to the web to tweet about the actor's supposed rape of 16-year-old Natalie Wood in 1954. Robert Downey Jr. reportedly outed the actor as well. Many online have called him a terrible womanizer and Douglas himself discussed groping women in his own memoir.

4. Oprah's Award

The Oprah gave a rousing speech accepting the Cecil B. DeMille award at Golden Globes on Sunday night. While some called the acceptance speech pretentious and self-congratulatory, others felt it was very moving and it even started a whole hoopla about a future Oprah presidency. The problem? The filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille was reportedly one of the worst offenders when it came to the seedy casting couch and often targeted young women. While many online have called DeMille a "pervert," these reports have yet to be confirmed. Nevertheless, Oprah also loved a good Harvey nuzzle back in the day. WTF?
